Touchstone postpartum doula care
After more than a decade of experience working in childcare, in 2022 I began to focus my learning on caring for newborns and their families. I have worked with families and newborns privately, and in the community sector, offering intuitive and compassionate support and care.
In 2023 I formalized my training through Black-owned, queer-run Birthing Advocacy Doula Trainings, and certified as a postpartum doula. I am very grateful for the teachings that were so generously shared through that portal.
My approach to postpartum doula work is holistic, adaptive and individualized. Our care plan might include: preparing meals, in my home or yours; support with light housework; offering options for postpartum healing; supporting you with infant care, feeding, and sleep; offering evidence-based information about all the many questions that newborns bring.
I aim to offer inclusive and affirming accompaniment through this stage of family-building, and love working with queer/trans folks in this work, knowing the specific challenges and exclusions that this time of life can sometimes include.
I am deeply humbled by the experience of coming alongside all kinds of families through the postpartum period; it is sacred and transformative work. I believe birthwork plays a vital role in transforming our systems and cultures, towards more just and equitable worlds. I’d love to work together!
